Long Beach, WA

I thought I had published this but just realized I must have only saved it. We went to Long Beach over Valentine's day weekend (my friend had a time share she couldn't use for the first 3 days so we went instead) It wasn't very "romantic" since we had our four kids with us but it was lots of fun. And for being in the middle of winter the weather turned out great.
Beren was mesmerized by the dead seal. It was pretty stinky and it's guts were falling out.

Bart and the kids made this sculpture.

Mariners Fan Fest

We went to fan fest a couple months ago and had a great time. Ryan Roland-Smith is signing Beren's ball. He's a pitcher from Australia. We got to see the locker rooms, weight rooms and see some Mariners players walking around.
Asher, Jude--our friend and Beren posing.
We got to go out on the field and the boys ran the bases.

Indiana's 3!!

It took me about 2 hours to decorate this one. One of my friends said that if the type of cake I make for my kids' bdays correlated to my love for them, then I'd love Indiana the most :)
I must love her a lot but not remember how old she is b/c as you can see I put 6 candles in the cake...not sure what I was thinking. Anyway, it was fun making it and she was so excited to see the butterfly. She keeps telling everyone about her "flyfly cake." It was the ultimate coconut cake from martha stewart.

Lost tooth

Beren is 7 and he finally lost his first tooth, naturally (He knocked out his canine when he was 1 1/2). He was the last on in his class to do it so he's been waiting a long time. He was so excited when it finally came out. The tooth fairy forgot to come the first night and the second night he was washing it off in the sink and it went down the drain. He was so upset. So we left a note about his tooth and what happened. He got a note the next morning from T. F. (we haven't denied or supported the existence of the the Tooth Fairy, so Bart said T. F. stands for tu father half spanish half english). The note said, Sorry about your tooth. I heard it went down the drain. Maybe it will reach the sea and turn into sand or a shell. He still got a buck. I tried to push for 10 cents b/c that's what I used to get but bart said that it needed to be more due to inflation ;)

HALLOWEEN

Beren was Wolverine. I made the mask, gloves and outfit while bart made the claws. He cut out each individual claw from a styrofoam sword.
Indiana wanted to be "pink" so I made a pink super hero....not really sure what she is. The boots didn't really turn out but I finished them right before the school party and didn't have time to fix them.
Asher's I was most proud of b/c it was the first time I'd ever tried sleeves and they turned out perfectly. Bart cut out the logo on his chest. As you can see I always have bart do the detail work b/c he's really good at that sort of thing.

our family shot. I just threw this outfit on when we were walking out the door for trick or treating. And calvin's I didn't get around to making. It was going to be a spider.

Annual Halloween Fondue Party

Ok, so mine's a little inappropriate now that I see it in still life. I was Kitty from Arrested Development and Bart was George Bluth Sr. You have to know the show to get the joke. Anyway, the party was super fun and we had great friends come in awesome outfits. I wish I had a picture of the food. It was really good.

Lincoln City, OR

We had a perfect trip down to the Oregon Coast with Bart's family back in August. (I know it's been awhile since I've posted) His parents, brother and sisters with their families were all there to make a grand total of 17.

We stayed in this totally sweet 7 bedroom house that had an excellent view.

The first night we had FHE and for the activity dressed up the kids as mummies with TP. Indiana was a model.

Bart brought some smoke bombs and they let them off on top of the "volcanoes" The boys totally dug it.

Another night the kids roasted the most gigantic marshmallows I've seen. The picture of Indiana's doesn't even do it justice. They were at least5 times bigger than a regular mallow.

We had a great time and were so glad we got to see Anna, Jeff and Ruby from out of state. It's a great way to visit family. While everyone is on vacation!! Good times.
